06-03-2018: Definitely Not a Plane - Newton Abbot, Devon, UK

Statement:
Hi Ken and Hil : I was sky watching when I spotted what at first I thought was a plane. When I looked at it through my binoculars I could see that the object was a peculiar shape it was definitely not a plane. I took a photograph and watched as the object flew in a curve across the sky leaving a contrail behind it. This is not the first time I have seen an object trying to mask itself as a plane. In fact I have seen many over the years. The photograph was taken on the 6th of March 2018, 10:43 PM at Newton Abbot Devon England. All the best John.

So, this raises the question - if it isn't a plane, (which it doesn't appear to be, even accounting for some distortion of image through enlargement) what the blazes is this thing?
