Whilst I was outside today,
working in my garden, December 2, 2008,
3pm, in
Farnborough, Hampshire, UK,
I
witnessed two RAF
helicopters flying at about a
thousand feet altitude,
which
passed over my house
in an easterly direction.
I
stopped the task
I was doing to
look up and watch
properly, when I noticed a very
strange object
just a
few dozen
feet or so
behind them.
The object seemed very
wierd indeed
to my eyes, (which
are good and I don't
wear
glasses),
appearing to
be a sort of cross
on a bar formation.
And
there was another
puzzling
aspect;
Although the copters' were perfectly clear
and visible,
even to the point of
seeing detailing on
their sides, the
mystery
object looked hazy, almost
translucent in part.
It was flying so close to
the
military craft, that at first it looked as
if this thing was being
towed
along; then I
could see
that the object was travelling
independently, so my thoughts turned to the
possibilty
that the helicopters
were escorting whatever it
was.
But then, after about two minutes, the
helicopters went one way, veering NE in the
direction of
R.M.A. Sandhurst, while
the object continued flying East,
in
the direction of Heathrow. The flight only
lasted about
a few minutes
within view and I didn't really have a
chance to
go indoors and grab my camera.
Weather Conditions: Dry,
cold, dull, but clear
visibility.
