More UFO Sightings From Farnborough, Hants, UK, 2010
Hi Ken,
Hope you are well.
After the Farnborough air show we started to notice more activity in the sky
local to us and so began to keep a log of these.
The first was a Saturday in July (we do not recall the date) Time: approximately
10:00pm. It was a single light travelling from the west in an easterly direction
following Staines Road West, our approximate location was Sunbury Cross.
Our second encounter was closer and took place as we drove down Egham hill. The
light had a fire-like appearance. This sighting took place the following
Wednesday at approximately the same time. Another single light travelling from
the west it crossed the road we were travelling on.
After this we decided to make a point to look out for them, choosing to view
saturday and wednesday nights. We found a pretty good spot and we were not
disappointed. I believe it was a Saturday and we were standing waiting. Three
lights appeared from the north, we were viewing from Sunbury cross and as they
neared our location they turned east, gained height and at the same time all
three light dimmed and they moved up into the cloud and disappeared. Just before
they disappeared the leading light was almost directly over our heads and
despite its light having dimmed we could see its shadow reflected in the cloud
just above it by the streetlights and we were unable to see any wings. I do have
some video of the leading light while it was still very bright but it's a bit
shaky.
We decided that we should keep a better a record.
Monday 10th October at 7:20pm. Three lights travelling from the north across
Staines Road West. We were driving so only saw them briefly. They were flying
over Sunbury Cross, we were travelling on Windmill Road heading south.
Saturday 6th November at 7:25pm. A single light travelling slowly. My partner
spotted it as we stopped for petrol, Sainsbury, Hampton, St Clare. The light was
higher then most of the others. I jumped out of the car and viewed it for around
five minutes before it dimmed and disappeared into the cloud.
Thursday 18th November at 7:30pm. A single light, quite low, travelling from the
west heading east, flying parallel to Staines Road West, viewed from Sunbury
Cross.
Sunday 5th December at 8:15pm. Three lights moving slowly heading towards us
across Staines Road West. We stood and watched them from Sunbury cross. They
changed direction and headed south before they reached us. When we first noticed
them they were very bright, as they changed direction they dimmed but they
didn't seem to be in a hurry to go anywhere, they just lingered. The leading
light disappeared out of view around a tall building the two trailing lights
followed.
Generally
We either see one or three lights, the lights are orange and like a smouldering
ember. They can be difficult to tell apart from normal aircraft when viewed from
a distance, but are quite distinctive when viewed up close. We have never
noticed any side lights or wing lights that you would normally see on an
aircraft. The lights dim to become almost invisible and can return to full
brightness. Apart from the one occasion the lights we have seen appear quite low
in the sky. Every time we see three lights there is alway a leading light, the
two lights behind the leading light are a lot closer together.
We will continue our log and try and get some footage, not that we haven't been
trying but we tend to see them when we don't have the camera.
All the best
A'
