Oakley, North West Hampshire, From Wootton St Lawrence, Hants 05.09.09
We shot this footage at 8:15 pm tonight, September 05, 2009, whilst parked-up off the A339 near Wootton St Lawrence, (close to Basingstoke), looking out over Oakley, NW Hants.
I actually asked out-loud for a ufo to appear, (something which I have tried before and it sometimes works), and remarkably it did, not long afterwards....and only a short while after we had begun our skywatch.
My partner Hilary watched from inside the car through hi-powered binoculars and she could not see any strobe lights. I stood outside and filmed, walking along the edge of a field to get this shot and I can categorically say that there was no sound at all coming from this thing high in the air, no flashing lights, and the object disappeared behind some treees, despite my looking on the other side, fully expecting to see this thing emerge.....but it had just vanished, with no cloud for it to go into either, in that region of the sky.
I didn't have time to set up the tripod, so hence the camera movement, as this was a large, semi-professional camcorder that I was using...quite heavy to hold.
The wind was blowing gently from the north, while the object was travelling west to east.
