Message: I spotted
a Large
bright Orange ball moving from South to
North
towards Heathrow Airport.
I watched this for a few
seconds before
mentioning it to my friends who were
standing with me, I
asked them if I was
seeing things because I couldn't see
any Anti-Collision lights flashing or
Navigation lights
and being an
Aircraft Engineer these were the first thing I
started to
look for.
My friends confirmed that there
were no
lights
flashing, I then called to 3 more people
who were inside the Club to come out
and look and asked
them the same
question, they all said there were no flashing
lights and
then everyone remarked that there was also no
noise. They
then
started to question me as they know what
I do for a living and I couldn't answer
there questions,
especially as the
object had now moved past us and if it had
been an
Aircraft with full headlights on these would have
now
disappeared and
you would have seen the Anti-col and
Nav lights very clearly but all we could
see was the same
Orange
glow.
Heathrow Aircraft were taking off in a Westerly
direction so the object was moving against the wind,
(which chinese lanterns and
balloons
have a problem
doing). With all my 30 plus years as an
Aircraft
Engineer
I know this wasn't
an Aircraft or a Helicopter. The Object moved quite
steadily from South to North with no sudden movements and
I watched it until it
faded away in
the distance. The
whole event lasted around 5 minutes.
CAN
SOMEONE
PLEASE EXPLAIN WHAT
WE SAW and did anyone else see
it?
