Waterlooville, Nr. Portsmouth, 28th March
2009
Time; Around
10.30pm
Location: Around 1000ft
up.
Message: I was
in my back garden with my mother while we smoked. We
observed a spherical object flying across the sky in
roughly a north to
south-south-west direction. Although
the sky around here is often littered with
aircraft, this
was very different.
The object itself was of a very bright
orange light (perhaps slightly elliptical), and several
times larger than the
light seen on police spotter-planes.
I saw what seemed to be a white halo of
light
surrounding it.
It moved slowly, but with intention, and was
completely silent which is very unusual for the aircraft
that flies around here.
The orange light itself was
alike to the flame colour I have seen in flashes
when a
meteor burns up in the atmosphere.
The night was very clear, infact we
had just been discussing the prospect of frost as the sky
was so clear. There
were no clouds.
We followed the
object to the other side of the house where
it appeared to
flicker a little before disappearing over the treeline.
I'd
be very interested what the explanation could be for this
as I really can't say
I've ever seen an object like
this!
I took a quick still with my phone,
though the
quality is sadly pretty poor, and the object is very small in the
picture.
Emma
