Message: Came across your site by accident. Was pleasantly surprised to see report from Waverley Abbey as, a couple of years before, I went there one late summer's evening to take a few photos at dusk with my newly acquired digital camera. I was the only person there. Nothing weird appeared on my photos, but I heard something very strange. Just as if someone had switched on a CD player, I distinctly heard what sounded like monastic chanting. It lasted no more than 5 or 6 seconds and stopped as suddenly as it started. I am a sceptic about the paranormal, but have no explanation for this. I was roughly in the middle of the complex at the time, walking towards the river and the part of the ruins where the vaulted roof is still partly intact. If anyone else has experienced any auditory phenomena at Waverley Abbey, please share it here!
