Location: Static then moved
higher before changing direction and flying off.
I was on my way back from walking the dog this evening. It was a particularly wintery night, when I saw a bright light in the sky.
It is hard to say how high it was but it was too low to be a plane, so I assumed it was a helicopter's searchlight. The light remained static for about two minutes until whatever it was started to fly off slowly and gain height.
I could then see two lights and so I concluded it must have been a plane after all but I continued to watch as it went into the distance. After a minute or so, it suddenly turned round within a second or so and flew much faster off into the opposite direction.
I could not see a shape, only the two lights but there was no sound at all. I think it was the soundless quality that was the most distrubing. I would love to know if anyone else in my area has seen anything.
The light that was suspended in the air was a bright golden yellow colour similar to that of a car headlight and the two lights that were visible when the object was moving were a similar colour but not as bright and they were both smaller.
As it was such a bad night, there was nobody else out for me to verify what I saw, but I am sure that someone else must have been able to see it from a car.
