Woking, Surrey, 14th November, 2007,
U.K.
Time and date were roughly 22:00hrs,
14-Nov-2007.
The unidentified flying objects
that we saw were solid-looking lightforms,
orange and about the size
street
lights would be if you looked up at one from street
level.
- Their luminosity was not too bright;
almost like lights behind a
lampshade.
- The
objects were
about 200
or so
feet up.
- They stayed in
groups
of two and parallel to the ground, moving
very
slowly, west by south-west over
Woking town
center.
- There was no
noise.
-
This event was observed by
us for about 2
minutes.
Both my wife and I served in the United States Army. My wife served for 4 years and I served for 8. We both worked in communications and had plenty of opportunities to see several types of military and civilian aircraft; day and night.
I have seen a couple of things over the past couple of months, but what we saw at approximately 10:00 p.m., Wednesday, 14 2007 was nothing like either of us had seen before.
We came home after having a pint at a local pub with some friends. After getting home we decided to have our evening cigarette out of our bedroom window which is on the seventh floor of our building. I looked out the window first while my wife was in the living room.
I saw two orange coloured lights that looked like they could have marked either side of a planes wing span. There was no noticeable mass between the lights. They were a couple hundred feet or so over the town centre and heading west by south west.
I called my my wife who reluctantly came to the window. Once there it took her a little bit to realize that what we were looking at was something that we could not explain away. Shortly after she got to the window I went for my mobile phone so that I could call our friends and or take some pictures or video. My wife said that there were now four lights. Two more had joined behind the others as they continued west by south west over Woking town centre.
After the lights were mostly gone we started seeing a much larger display of other aircraft in the area; these were planes and helicopters. The aircraft were concentrated along the same path that the lights had taken. And stayed in the area for the next 45 minutes or so.
We have lived in Woking for about 3 years now are are quite familiar with the normal air traffic routes. We are also quite familiar with the types of air craft that frequent our Woking skyline.
What we saw is definitely not explainable by anything that we have experienced in our past 40+ years.
