Welcome to B.E.A.M.S.

Founded in 1991, our society consists of a
team of active reporters and field investigators who
factually gather, study and disseminate evidence relating to Earth Mysteries, (e.g. Ley Lines, Terrestrial Energies and Ancient Site Anomalies), Strange Aerial Happenings, (e.g. Unidentified Flying Objects or UFOs), and The Paranormal, (e.g. Spirit and Psychic Phenomena).

Flying Saucer? UFO Over Manchester, UK - 29-01-2015

Witness statement: 'What an exciting day, trekked through 6 inches of snow to the station, struggled into the city to take photos at Albert Square Chop House for Place, and whilst I was there took a photo of a Flying Saucer!!! look closely above the rectangular office building. Well it looks like one to me.'

We're really not sure what this is - it was only spotted reviewing images by our photographer xxxxx (copied into email).

The local paper (Manchester Evening News) laughed it off - said it looked fake. Given that xxxxx used to be their picture editor, and is still a freelancer for them, it was a bit annoying.

I have the original image direct from the camera if you want to examine it in more detail. It's fairly grainy (high ISO) shot on a Canon 1D MKIV. All the EXIF data is intact.

We're not aware of any advertising blimps in the sky above town - unlikely to be an airship - the weather was and has been terrible - snow/freezing. An airship is the only thing I could imagine it might have been - but as I said - it's unlikely.

Note regarding Exif information: The photo shown here was initially uploaded to Google Drive so that the photographer could share from his phone, hence its Exif data is NOT entirely as it should be, but thankfully today I have received a data perfect file of this image from my contact. Next, I ran this through an EXIF analysis programme which has confirmed that the image has 'a high probability of being original' - 'unprocessed'.

Magnification reveals that the mystery object is certainly not an airship, drone or anything of that nature, so it looks like we have ourselves a genuine UFO - in the true definition of the term - an aerial object that is unidentified. I have requested from the photographer any other images from that day, just before and after the UFO shot. Camera used was a Canon EOS-1D Mark IV professional DSLR.
