I was walking towards my car, after leaving Asda at Middlebrook retail
park when I saw 3 dark and round shapes high in the sky, which
appeared to be in a triangular formation at first.
Being an avid aviation enthusiast I thought their motion very strange and
certainly not aeroplane like.
When I first saw them they were dark specs silhouetted against gray
clouds, but their movement was odd. My wife went into Boots the chemist,
and I told her I would watch these objects, as maybe they were
helicopters; their motion was quite slow but they were getting closer.
I remembered that I had my binoculars in the glovebox of the car and
I reached for them, they are 8 x magnification.
I observed the objects between 1600hrs and 1610hrs, most of that time
Through the binoculars, the objects appeared black against the sky with
no lights or strobes. I can only described then as Jerusalem Star-shaped
but with curved facets as opposed to straight ones.
They appeared to be rotating about a central axis and remained in the
horizontal plane throughout. The objects were thicker in the centre and
tapered towards their edges.
The objects did not remain in the triangular formation but moved very
slowly but deliberately and almost formed a straight line at one point.
They remained roughly equidistant when I observed them.
So unusual was their behaviour that I summoned a young man who
was passing to confirm what I was seeing. He looked through my
binoculars and confirmed he too saw the same thing.
I do not know his name, but he was said he worked at Smyths toy shop
nearby, he was wearing staff attire.
I also asked my wife to look when she returned, she saw them too.
I tried to video them on her phone, but her phone was out of charge.
When I next looked for them I could no longer locate them.
I have never seen anything like this, their behaviour was extraordinary,
they remained about the same height throughout; my guess would be
above 3000 feet and below cloud.
Visibility was very good, despite the light fading, I had a clear
unobstructed view of the objects and can offer no explanation as to
what they were.
What I can say is that they were not planes, helicopters nor birds.
They were identical in shape size and tonality.
They moved slowly and deliberately.
I have made a mental note of where I was standing when I saw them.
