Hi, I got out of my car on my drive, and looked towards the Southeast and saw 
what I thought at first, was an aircraft come into Manchester, as I live under the 
flight path; but as it came nearer, I observed that it was NO aircraft, it was kind of 
a flat, oval disc that was glowing red-orange; its rim was an indigo colour 
with what seemed like electricity around it. 

I could see this object because it wasn't very high and wasn't going very fast; it 
seemed to be heading in an westerly direction and made just a slight crackling, 
hissing noise, although very feint. 

As I said, it wasn't going very fast, in fact I had enough time go around to my back 
door and get my binoculars to get a closer look. 

Now until then, I had been skeptical about UFOs.. but not any more. 

I don't know what it was, but it was no plane and I haven't seen anything like it 
before or since, and it has taken this long to pluck up the courage to tell someone.
