Witness Description:
10 sec exposure
I was taking pictures on a 10 sec exposure of the moon and lights in Black Rock City, didn't notice the thing until after when reviewing pics.
Both pics either side do not have star wobble so there was no camera shake.. whole set of 3 pics are a total of 40 seconds duration; I included pic from before, during, after.. was shooting the moon, and street traffic.

Didn't see the thing in the pics at all.
Images were taken on my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge.. ISO 200, exposure 10 secs, white balance: auto. [End]

Some nice visuals here; 1 and 2 contain nothing special in our opinion... but the image that interests us the most is Shot 3.
We've pondered over this no end; given that obviously, every moving light, air and road traffic etc will cause streaks when photographed on a relatively long exposure... but what man made machine or gadget could have caused this looping effect along the road?
Think in terms of a relatively small object; but even so, the alternating, varying, chevron-shaped colour patterning and most unusual motion of something captured travelling along a highway, ranks this as probably THE weirdest and most puzzling we have seen to date!
Just when you think you've seen everything eh?
