At around 1am on 15/06/23 I was stood outside my house, enjoying the warm evening air before bed.
Looking down my street, my attention was drawn upwards by a very bright light above me, so bright in fact that it lit up up my surroundings despite the two nearby street lights.
I looked up and saw, to the northeast and about 45 degrees inclination, a very bright yellowish-white circular light of about three times the diameter of Venus that rapidly changed to a reddish hue, and which faded completely away within maybe three seconds; during this time, the object moved smoothly diagonally upwards and to my right over a distance of perhaps five degrees or so.
I would estimate its magnitude to have been many times that of Venus during its flare up, and in fact approaching the brightness of the moon itself.
There was no sound during or following the sighting, and the night was quiet as I listened carefully.
I was, as far as I know, the only witness.
The air was still and the skies largely clear with only a hint of thin and high cloud cover far away from the object itself, and I could see many of the brighter stars nearby and even a passing satellite (which had no relation to the anomaly).
I had no way to estimate the object's elevation, of course, due to a lack of contrast with other aerial phenomena and the fact that it was simply a bright light.
I noticed nothing else that was strange during the sighting, nor were there any other effects that were noticeable.
I imagine that it could've been a meteorite, but if so it was far larger and stranger in colour and movement than any I have ever seen before, and so I felt the need to report the sighting as a possible UFO.
