A few weeks back my friend who suffers with mental health asked me if I could take her some photos of the surrounding landscape and to include fields and trees with some blue sky. A fairly easy task around here. I was then to print and send them to her as inspiration to paint.
I do a bit of local archeology so I knew of some good views just ten minutes from where we live. A fellow member of our archeology group had around the same time mentioned how beautiful the field across the road looked and had taken photos of it herself.
The other evening I finally got around to copying over the photos from my camera to the computer which included a couple of shots I thought would look good as a large panoramic, taken on my DSLR. So I began to look at the images carefully and in detail and what do you know, I appear to have captured something.

Because of the distance and size, I did not see it when I took the photo but it looks quite physical and metallic, shinny at least and almost completely spherical.
Photos were taken on Thursday 14th September, just after 10:00am. Blue sky with some cloud and a light breeze, looking westerly.
I have noticed other small objects in the same photo but I am labelling most of these as bugs.
This object was not around when I took the previous photo and my camera data tells me that there were 12 seconds between these two shots. I have also noticed something entering the frame of a photo at 21 sec before so I have included this photo too. Please note, the focus of the camera was on the field so the object is slightly out of focus and the lens I am using is set up for wide angel. I have also included a screenshot from google maps to give you a idea of the distance and surrounding area. The photos I’ve sent you are all Jpeg but I set my camera up to take Raw at the same time.
I took other photos of the field and in one taken 2mins 51secs there are three objects set out in a fairly equal sided triangle and a tiny point of light. These objects are small, quite similar in shape and could be insects or birds but they kind of remind me of another photos I took a number of years ago in Sunbury.

Yesterday I did a little bit of investigation on unexplained phenomena in and around this area. I was curious to see if I could find a pattern to these sightings. I came across a website that listed some sightings. The sightings included map coordinates, one over near Blanford, the other close to Sturminster Newton. The sightings are years apart but interestingly, both were very close to solar farms as was mine. This could be a complete coincidence.
