"I would like to talk about a sighting in 1974 where myself and an ex-boyfriend saw high in the sky a large round object with blue, red and white flashing lights on the sides. It seemed to be rotating and emitting a low hum of an engine noise.
It must have been late spring of that year.
We were in Canning Town UK and it was around 7 o'clock in the evening so quite dark but a cold crisp and clear evening.. As we stared up at this object hovering in the sky trying to work out what it was it started to move sideways and then suddenly accelerated and then soared upwards and disappeared in the night sky.
The next day we heard the DJ on Radio
I recounting there had been several sightings the evening I am talking about across East London and asking if anyone in Canning Town had seen it. I didn't have the number to ring in and report. I have been laughed at many times when I talk about this but I swear that is what we saw. I cannot be anymore specific as it was 50 years ago but the memory of seeing this has never left me."
